Pigeon traps

It seems that once the idea is understood, people are happy to make their own variations of the small pigeon trap. That’s just what Clive has done here and apparently with great success.

“I put the two door pigeon trap out for the first time today and I captured a
pigeon in the first 10 minutes.

It works perfect caught three in the first six hours.”

Richie has also had a go at his own take on the small pigeon trap.

Another Steve, this time in North Yorkshire, has really gone to town making Rabbit Drop Boxes. And a few Fenn tunnels too.

Steve, Hertfordshire

Steve, made this see-saw trap and few Fenn tunnels from plywood fly-tipped on his land. He’s come up with an alternative ‘lock’ for the exit door

John, Lancashire

John in Lancashire has made this excellent ladder trap and Larsen trap.

Barry, Scotland

Barry made a basic pigeon trap from the plans in the book - and managed to catch two rooks in it !.

Alexander, Northumberland. Aged 13

Alexander has been working with his Grandad to make a few traps to use around the farm. They began with a see-saw trap, followed by a Larsen Trap.

Alex also told me :

“I made a couple of fenn boxes a few weeks ago out of your book, and I have found very effective for rabbits as I caught three rabbits in three settings of the trap after I got them running through it.”

“You have caused a great deal of excitement in our small town. For years we have tried to keep the magpies under control and have never found an easy method. Well I built the trap, and we have been catching a magpie a day. Everyone wants to see the trap and it has become quite a topic here in town. I cannot thank you enough for your help”
